Programme Overview

Bachelor of Laws (LLB) at UPSA Law School

The UPSA Law School invites applications for admission to its Bachelor of Laws (LLB) Degree programme for the 2025/2026 Academic Year. The LLB Degree programme is offered in two cohorts:

  • Three (3)-Year LLB Degree Programme for First Degree Holders: An evening school programme designed for students with a first degree in any discipline who wish to pursue a career in law.
  • Four (4)-Year LLB Degree Programme for Non-First Degree Holders: A full-time day programme for students with secondary school qualifications.

The programme is rigorous and prepares students for admission into professional training at the Ghana School of Law.

Eligibility Criteria

3-Year LLB (First Degree Holders)

Eligibility: Must have a first degree in any relevant discipline from a recognized institution with a minimum of Second Class Lower.

Additional Requirement: WASSCE/SSSCE/GBCE credit passes (C6 or D) in three core subjects and three elective subjects, or GCE ‘O’ Level credit passes in five subjects (including English, Mathematics, and a Science subject) plus three ‘A’ Level passes and a pass in General Paper.

Entrance Exam & Interview: Short-listed applicants must take an Entrance Examination (GH¢100 fee) on Saturday, 17th May 2025 at 8:00 AM at LBC, followed by a Selection Interview from Monday, 9th June to Friday, 13th June 2025 at 9:00 AM at the UPSA Law School Conference Room.

Note: Lectures are held Monday to Friday (evenings) and Saturday (mornings).

4-Year LLB (Non-First Degree Holders)

Qualifications: Acceptable qualifications include WASSCE, SSSCE, American High School Grade 12 (minimum GPA 3.0), WAEC GCE Advanced Level, or GCSE/Cambridge GCE ‘O’ and ‘A’ Level.

WASSCE/SSSCE/GBCE: Credit passes (A1-C6 or A-D) in three core subjects (English, Mathematics, Integrated Science/Social Studies) and three elective subjects.

GCE Advanced Level: Passes in three subjects (at least one Grade D or better) plus a pass in General Paper, and credit passes (Grade 6) in five GCE ‘O’ Level subjects (including English, Mathematics, and a Science subject).

GCSE/Cambridge GCE: At least five credit passes (including English and Mathematics) at GCSE ‘O’ Level and three subjects at ‘A’ Level.

Note: Current final-year SHS students writing WASSCE/GBCE in July/August 2025 are eligible to apply and must provide their index numbers.
